Certainly if I cared about attracting a million people to watch me and comment on my artwork and treat me like an art god, my gallery would be full of slash and fetishism and hentai and porn, and I would go around marketing myself as a "fence-sitter" who "wants to please everybody".

But I get the same results by being my own artist and following my personal convictions, and no one's reputation gets damaged except by their own volition (which they still try to blame on me anyway).
